We truly enjoyed riding from Austria onto Slovakia. We didn't know what to expect and the ride on the Eurovelo 6 route from Hainburg to Bratislava ended up being simple and straightforward.  From Hainburg, we pedaled directly east to cross the border into Slovakia. Nobody seemed to be at the border while we were there and we just bicycled right into the country. The path goes right along the Danube through a dedicated bicycle path that is easy to follow. Bratislava and its white castle can be seen as soon as crossing the border from an afar distance. As we went through the city on the south bank, we stopped right before the bridge to take a break and some pictures of the castle. As it was still early in the day, we chose to keep on going. Along the side of the bicycling path, there are many loundge bars and restaurants. We stopped at one of them a few kms after crossing town, ordered a couple drinks, ate our sandwiches and bicycled our way into Hungary, Halazi for the night. If we were to do this again, we would probably stop into Bratislava for a night to visit the city, but this time around we didn't.
